RIP Funeral of Legendry Charles Stanley, Influential Pastor, LAst Video | Live Funeral
Dr. Charles Frazier Stanley, the pastor of In Touch Ministries, died at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the age of 90.
Throughout his 65 years of ministry, Dr. Stanley has been known by millions of people around the world through his television and radio broadcasts. He has modeled his work after the apostle Paul's words in Acts 20:24, which read, "Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love."
Stanley was born on September 25, 1932, in Dry Fork, Virginia, during the height of the Great Depression. His father died when he was just nine months old, and his mother reared him alone.
Dr. Stanley, who felt called to the ministry at the age of 14, attended the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, for his Bachelor of Arts, and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, for his Bachelor of Divinity. He attended Atlanta's Luther Rice Seminary and graduated both master's and doctoral
